Fire Walk with Kick Ash?! Why Not?!

Ainsley and Shannon were invited to take part in a fire walk on the 25th January 2025.

Not knowing what they were getting themselves in to, they decided to face the fear and do it anyway!

From beginning to end, this experience was not just liberating but truly transformative—a magical journey I wholeheartedly recommend and would eagerly embark on again!

Shannon and Ainsley arrived at the Gilvenbank community centre, not knowing what to expect, both pushing themselves outwith their comfort zone, ready to embrace the unknown and push their boundaries.

As they took their seats, nerves and anticipation filled the air, while they signed a waiver—a small formality for the incredible journey ahead.

When the room reached full capacity, Barry and his family captivated them with a 90-minute preparation talk. They shared inspiring stories and introduced activities designed to help them harness them energy (Shhh! The specifics are a secret, to preserve the magic).

Outside, the fire was igniting and the walking area was being set up — this was getting real!

After the preparation, they were encouraged to channel their inner Wonder Woman. Standing proudly in their power poses, Barry's motivating words fuelled their excitement and courage.

Finally, the moment came and they proudly took their turn crossing the fire bed.

‘Why not’ was my opinion when this opportunity came up last minute. I wasn’t sure what to expect but sometimes we need to push ourselves out of our comfort zone.
After the 90minute preparation chat, I was ready to walk the fire ‘yes yes yes’. At last, the moment arrived to step outside and walk over the fire, chanting "yes, yes, yes" to amplify our resolve.

Firewalking... I can’t quite articulate why I said yes, but I am profoundly grateful I did!
What I originally anticipated to be a terrifying experience, filled with anxiety and the typical fears surrounding fire, blossomed into something truly transformative. It’s a challenge to capture the depth of my experience in words.

That night, I took a bold leap far beyond my comfort zone, and as I stepped onto those glowing, hot coals, each one radiating at over 600 degrees Fahrenheit, a wave of empowerment washed over me. I emerged feeling stronger, brimming with confidence, and radiating self-assurance—truly like Wonder Woman herself. I walked away without so much as a scald, and while I don’t recommend tempting fate with fire, I wholeheartedly invite anyone curious about this exhilarating experience to join the walk for our charity! It’s an opportunity that could ignite a spark of transformation in your life—you won’t regret it!

We are hosting a fire walk on the 25th October 2025 (Venue TBC) Please do sign up to this amazing, empowering experience and raise funds for our charity.
